From reimagined versions of entire records to mashups and old classics, it is clear that Kings K is ready for in-person performances. The industry shakers decided to put on a live streaming experience that was nothing short of jaw dropping. During quarantine, they had to switch it up in order to drive attraction, seeing that there were no live shows.
I was lucky to see them bring a stadium-caliber performance to a bar venue, at the end of 2019. All of the band members are multi-instrumentalists, and you will often find them switching from one choice weapon to another, between songs. Kings K is notorious for putting on absurdly intricate and well-orchestrated shows. On another hand, the band’s live shows are something to behold. Kings K is often found on unique playlists, such as: ‘Not Your Mom’s Christian Music’ and ‘Worship That Doesn’t Sound Like KLOVE Radio And ‘09 Chris Tomlin Had A Child.’ The band’s unique social persona is a key to their success. Much of this band’s appreciation derives from its roots in Christian music and how it feels, sonically, far from Christian music. At this moment, Kings K has five EPs and four LPs.
